Train. Control. Perform.

ARC | MIND + MOTION

Two disciplines. One development model.

ARC approaches academic and physical development as complementary systems. Select a question below to see how each side of ARC works.

ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT

ARC | Mind

Focused learning that strengthens reasoning, confidence, and academic independence.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT

ARC | Motion

Purposeful training that develops discipline, coordination, strength, and self-control.

Select a question to compare ARC | Mind and ARC | Motion.

SELECT A QUESTION

Choose Why, What, Who, When, Where, or How above.

WHY Why does each side exist?
ARC | MIND

School grades reward memorization. The SAT — and everything after it — rewards reasoning. That skill is rarely taught directly, so we made it part of the curriculum: students who learn how questions work outperform students who memorize last year's answers.

ARC | MOTION

Discipline isn't a lecture — it's a practice. Decades of research link physical training, and traditional Taekwondo specifically, to stronger focus, self-regulation, and confidence. The habits built on the mat are the ones the classroom runs on.

WHAT What does the student actually do?
ARC | MIND

Small-group classes for grades 6–12: instruction through the student's own coursework, Ascend — our accelerated reasoning curriculum built on the system behind New York's SHSAT — full SAT preparation, and an individualized 4-, 3-, or 2-year college roadmap.

ARC | MOTION

Traditional Taekwondo under Kukkiwon-certified instruction. Poomsae, etiquette, controlled sparring, and rank progression based on demonstrated readiness. Classes are organized by age and level, with family and adult training available as well.

WHO Who is each program designed for?
ARC | MIND

Grades 6 through 12, taught live by our founder with fifteen years of classroom teaching experience and more than a decade working with the SHSAT reasoning framework that became Ascend. Classes are intentionally kept small.

ARC | MOTION

Students from their first white belt through black belt, with placement based on age, maturity, experience, and rank. Youth, teen, adult, and family training allow students and parents to find the right place on the mat.

WHEN How does it fit into the week?
ARC | MIND

Structured weekly instruction gives students consistent time for coursework, targeted skill development, test preparation, and long-term academic planning rather than relying on last-minute cramming.

ARC | MOTION

Training is scheduled throughout the week, with classes organized by age and level. For students participating in both sides of ARC, the schedule can allow academic work to transition naturally into Taekwondo training.

WHERE Why place both under one roof?
ARC | MIND

Academic instruction happens in a focused learning environment designed for teaching, discussion, diagnostics, individual support, and small-group work.

ARC | MOTION

Taekwondo training takes place in the dojang. Keeping both environments within the ARC model allows families to move between academic and physical development without treating them as unrelated parts of the student's life.

HOW How is progress earned?
ARC | MIND

Teaching emphasizes retrieval, reasoning, deliberate practice, diagnostics, and measurable performance. Student plans are revisited as coursework, testing goals, and academic needs change.

ARC | MOTION

Fundamentals are repeated until they are correct. Poomsae, kicking, control, sparring, and technical expectations progress with rank. Promotion happens when the student demonstrates readiness — not simply because enough time has passed.

THE ARC MODEL

Same student. Different disciplines. One coordinated path.

Mind develops how students think. Motion develops how they train, respond, and carry themselves. Families may choose either program independently or combine both.

THE SYMBOL BEHIND ARC

The Crest

The ARC crest is drawn in the red and blue of the Korean taegeuk — the eternal balance of complementary forces. Just as the taegeuk teaches that harmony arises from two halves made whole, we believe a student truly becomes better only when academic excellence and physical discipline are trained together, as one.

A stands for Achievement — the pursuit of academic excellence, crowned by the graduation cap that marks four successful years of high school and the doors it opens beyond.

R stands for Resilience and Respect — the twin pillars of leadership. Setbacks are met with perseverance; success is carried with humility.

C stands for Conditioning of the Mind — training students to think critically, to reason with logic, and to question with purpose.

The tiger, Korea's national animal, embodies courage, strength, and physical discipline. The owl, the timeless symbol of wisdom, embodies insight, patience, and the discipline of the mind.

Set within a shield, they stand watch over what ARC promises every family: a place where character is forged and potential is protected.

A · ACHIEVEMENT

Achievement

The A represents the pursuit of academic excellence and the opportunities that disciplined preparation can create.

The graduation cap crowns the A because academic development at ARC is designed with a destination in mind. Strong grades matter, but so do reasoning ability, course selection, standardized testing, academic independence, leadership, and the decisions students make throughout middle and high school.

Achievement is not one score or one admission result. It is the accumulation of preparation, consistency, judgment, and growth that creates more choices for the student.

THE IDEAPreparation creates options.
R · RESILIENCE + RESPECT

Strength with character.

Character is revealed both when a student struggles and when a student succeeds.

Resilience means learning to continue when the work becomes difficult, to respond constructively to setbacks, and to understand that growth often requires repetition, correction, and patience.

Respect keeps confidence from becoming entitlement. Students learn to listen, accept instruction, treat others appropriately, and carry ability with humility.

C · CONDITIONING OF THE MIND

The mind is trained too.

Conditioning is not limited to the body. Thinking, focus, reasoning, and academic performance can also be deliberately trained.

ARC | Mind teaches students to think critically, reason with logic, recognize structure, retrieve information, and question with purpose.

The goal is to strengthen the student's ability to approach the next unfamiliar problem with greater independence, composure, and judgment.

ARC | MOTION

The Tiger

The tiger, Korea's national animal, embodies courage, strength, and physical discipline.

Within ARC, the tiger represents the Motion side of the student: the willingness to act, train repeatedly, remain composed under physical demand, and build confidence through demonstrated ability.

Through traditional Taekwondo and athletic conditioning, students develop coordination, strength, control, resilience, and the discipline required to keep improving when training becomes difficult.

ARC | MIND

The Owl

The owl represents wisdom, patience, observation, and disciplined thought.

Within ARC, the owl represents the Mind side of the student: observing before reacting, recognizing patterns, reasoning through uncertainty, and understanding that the first answer is not always the strongest answer.

ARC | Mind develops students toward greater academic independence — not only knowing more, but learning how to think more carefully about what they know and how they use it.

THE KOREAN TAEGEUK

Balance

The red and blue represent complementary forces — different in purpose, stronger when developed together.

That principle sits at the center of ARC. Academic excellence and physical discipline are different forms of development, but we do not treat them as competing priorities.

ARC | Mind develops how a student thinks, reasons, learns, and performs academically. ARC | Motion develops how a student trains, responds, moves, and carries themselves physically.

What’s on your mind?

Accelerated & Collaborative Learning (Group)

Our small-group classes combine structure, collaboration, and focused instruction.

For middle school, students receive support with current coursework before transitioning into Ascend—reasoning, academic foundations, and early SAT preparation. Students who don’t need coursework support can join an Ascend-only track.

For high school, group classes focus exclusively on SAT preparation, including Reading, Writing, Math, test strategy, and time management.

Personalized Mentorship & Measurable Results (Private)

For students seeking in-depth, one-on-one instruction, our private tutoring offers a tailored plan and direct mentorship. We find the specific gaps holding a student back and close them. This personalized approach turns individual academic goals into measurable results.

Every plan combines AI-assisted research with more than a decade of classroom experience: the AI broadens the search across schools, tests, and timelines—the instructor makes the calls. The result is a realistic, individualized plan, not a template.

Strategic Admissions & Application Guidance (College Apps and Consultations)

Navigating the road to college requires more than just high scores on the SAT. We provide expert guidance on school targeting, goal setting, and coaching students to write compelling application essays in their own voice.

Every family receives an individualized multi-year roadmap: a 4-, 3-, or 2-year plan depending on the grade we start in. Covering courses, testing dates, scholarship applications, and application milestones from today through final submission.

ARC | MIND · INSTRUCTION

Focused instruction without unnecessary busywork.

We identify what a student needs, teach the reasoning behind it, and build toward independent performance.

01CHECK DIAGNOSE

Find the actual gap.

Diagnostics, coursework, and student performance help us identify where support is needed before instruction begins.

02BUILD TEACH

Teach how the problem works.

Students learn structure, reasoning, retrieval, and problem-solving instead of relying only on memorized procedures.

03APPLY PERFORM

Build independent performance.

Guided practice gradually gives way to independent work so students can transfer what they learn to class, tests, and unfamiliar problems.

Understand it. Work through it. Apply it.

What’s your motion?

Traditional Taekwondo

Our Taekwondo classes are taught the traditional way, under Kukkiwon-certified instruction. Here, students will learn that etiquette, poomsae, and technique come before anything else, and that rank is earned, never scheduled.

For youth and beginner students, classes build fundamentals from the first bow: stances, kicks, blocks, and the habits of a traditional dojang — focus, respect, and follow-through that carry straight back to the classroom.

For teen students, classes are scheduled after each academic block — the study session ends, and training begins the same evening, in the same building, with no gap.

Students may also enroll in Taekwondo alone, with two or three classes per week.

Family & Adult Classes (Train Together)

Discipline is easier to build when the whole household practices it. Our Friday family class puts parents and children on the same mat, learning the same curriculum — one of the few activities where a twelve-year-old and their parent can be genuine training partners.

For adults training on their own schedule, the evening advanced and adult class offers traditional Taekwondo as it should be taught at any age: technique, conditioning, and steady progression through the same internationally recognized rank system your children train under.

Belt Testing & Competition

Progress at ARC is visible and earned. Students only test when they're ready — not when the calendar says so — and every testing fee is published up front. No surprise costs, no contract games.

For students who want more, we can offer real coaching toward performances and tournaments.

Black belt candidates are registered directly through the Kukkiwon, which means their rank is recognized in every country in the world — a credential that travels to any university club, any legitimate school, anywhere.

ARC | MOTION · TRAINING

Quality instruction without wasting any time.

Focused classes built around technique, repetition, movement, and consistent progress.

45MIN CLASS LENGTH

Focused from bow-in to bow-out.

Technique, repetition, conditioning, and instruction without unnecessary downtime.

2–3× EACH WEEK

Consistency over cramming.

Regular training helps students retain technique, build capacity, and develop better habits.

5 EXPERIENCE

Instruction families remember.

Five-star feedback from families who experienced previous Taekwondo instruction firsthand.

Sweat it out. Yell it out. Kick it out.
Flexible Learning Formats

Targeted tutoring and group instruction, in the classroom or the dojang.

Students receive focused academic support based on their individual needs, whether through one-on-one tutoring, small-group instruction, or structured classroom lessons. Learning can take place in a traditional classroom setting or directly in the dojang, allowing academics to integrate naturally with ARC’s Mind + Motion model.
